Xerophytic:
Drought adaptions
The term used to describe a plant that has adapted itself to cope with a dry, arid climate. The modification could be a swollen stem or leaves to store water, or hairy foliage to reduce moisture evaporation from the leaf surfaces. E.g. Cacti are xerophytic.
