Monocarpic:

Plants that die back after setting seed

Monocarpic plants flower, set their seed and then die back. These plants can live for many years before flowering. However, it's not the actual flowering of the plant that kills it, but rather the process of generating the seeds, as all of the plant's resources are diverted from the roots and leaves to the fruit and seed formation, ultimately leading to the death of the plant.

Monocotyledon :

Germinates with one seed leaf

A Monocotyledon is a plant that has one seed leaf when it germinates. E.g. All grasses are Monocotyledons.

Monoecious:

Separate male and female flowers on same plant

The term used to describe a plant that has separate male and female flowers on the same plant.
