Spreading shrub or small tree which has deep purple leaves in spring which late become dark green in summer. Single slightly fragrant double pink blooms are produced before the foliage in early and mid-spring. A great ornamental cherry to grow in a small garden or where space is limited.

  • Garden care: When planting, incorporate lots of well-rotted garden compost in the planting hole and stake firmly. Prune in summer to reduce the risk of silver leaf and bacterial canker. Cut back any dead, diseased or branches which cross to healthy wood.
