Tall spikes of pink-edged bell-shaped white or greenish-white flowers above rosettes of hairy scalloped leaves emerald-green above and purple beneath. An attractive all year groundcover plant for difficult dry shady areas in between deciduous shrubs or trees. Best sheltered from cold drying winds the bronze-tinted winter foliage resonates well with the purple-tinted catkins of Corylus maxima 'Purpurea'.

  • Garden care: Remove the faded flower spikes once the plant has finished flowering. Lift and divide congested colonies in spring and apply a generous mulch of well-rotted garden compost or compost leaf mould around the base of the plant
