A cross between an Aster and a Solidago this interesting perennial produces aster-like flowers in Solidago-like arching plumes. The lemon yellow flowers are small but they come in big clusters and as they are borne on tall rigid stems they rarely need staking. They are good for cutting and will attract butterflies to the garden. It is an easy to grow plant that mixes well with other late flowering perennials in a mixed border. It is said to be unpalatable to deer.

  • Garden care: Try to keep it well watered in summer to avoid powdery mildew.
