A tall plant which produces masses of egg-shaped maroon flowerheads above the attractively dissected folaige from midsummer. The flowers open from the top of the flowerspike and slowly work their way down as the season progresses providing colour over a long period. A graceful plant which is ideal for adding height to the back of the border it is particularly suited to naturalised planting schemes.
- Garden care: Provide support using brushwood canes and divide over-large clumps in spring or autumn.
