Sumptuous ruffled crepe-paper chocolate-maroon flowers above grey-green leaves. Each of the delicate blooms has a large black mark at the base. Excellent for a sunny border or cottage garden this oriental poppy tolerates most soil conditions. Before the flowers appear use twiggy prunings or garden canes to stake the plant.
