This evergreen perennial spreads by underground rhizomes to form clumps of arching stems carrying glossy green leaves which die off after new growth is produced to replace it each spring.

In early summer pendulous white flowers that look like green-tipped bells dangle singly or in pairs from the leaf axils. These flowers have a delicious lemon scent. An ideal woodlander that works well with hostas, ferns and other shade lovers.

Garden Care: Apply a generous layer of mulch in autumn or spring and divide congested colonies in spring.
