The flowers of this deciduous grass stand airy and transparent high above the foliage. It’s therefore ideal for the middle of a border planted among large-flowered perennials where the purple feathery spikelets will catch every breeze. A native of moorland it will flourish on most soils as long as they are not too dry. It will tolerate sun or light shade and lasts well into winter. - Garden care: Cut back in late winter before the new foliage appears.
