Easy to grow evergreen ornamental grass forming dense low tussocks of narrow bright blue leaves. Blue fescue is an ideal accent plant for a sunny border or rock garden. In midsummer the plant produces short spikes of blue-green flowers effused with violet. Pest and drought tolerant, it is easy to grow though the best colour is obtained on poor dry soils.

  • Garden care: Comb through the plant in winter to remove dead foliage.
  • Goes well with: Lavandula augustifolia 'Hidcote', Salvia x sylvestris 'Mainacht', Perovskia 'Blue Spire', Briza maxima, Allium sphaerocephalon, Astrantia major 'Hadspen Blood'.
