An Italian salad vegetable which not only tastes great but it is also rich in antioxidants. It will add colour texture and intense flavour to mixed leaf salads and is best grown for full sized heads in autumn and early winter. The round heads have green outer leaves and they stand up well to inclement weather.

  • Growing Instructions:

Sow thinly from June to July for full sized heads in well prepared soil in full sun 13mm deep in drills 30cm apart. They can also be sown in pots on the windowsill for fresh leaves all year round.Thin the seedlings when large enough to handle to 30cm apart and keep well watered to minimise bolting (running to seed). You will be able to harvest the crop from August to December.
