This ubiquitous vine can turn even an ordinary house into something special to look at. Green leaves in summer turn into a stunning, fiery red display in autumn. After some initial support the Virginia Creeper is self-supporting and will branch out to cover large expanses of wall or fences. This species shares its name with an ingenious one-way valve found in the heart (the tricuspid). Both valve and leaf have a distinctive three lobes. Allow a little time for cutting back from your windows!
