This extremely vigorous, deciduous, early flowering Clematis has mid green leaves and large pure white flowers (10cm diameter) with yellow centres. The flowers are produced in late spring / early summer and last for approximately one month. They grow on the previous year’s wood. It is the leaf stalks of Clematis montana var. grandiflora that twine around the support and this variety is ideal for a north facing site.

No regular pruning is required, however if the spread does need to be curtailed, prune immediately after flowering, cutting over long shoots back to healthy buds.

Apply a mulch of well-rotted garden compost around the plants' base in early spring with some slow-release balanced fertiliser.
