    Sulphur yellow flowers often with brown or violet markings in July and August and ribbed grey-green leaves. This native yellow flag iris was once commonly found on marshy land and riversides. Ideal for planting at the margins of a large lake or pool it flourishes in deep acid soil enriched with well-rotted organic matter.

  • Garden care: Divide large clumps immediately after flowering.

  • Goes well with: Iris laevigata, Acorus calamus, Carex elata 'Aurea', Typha minima, Juncus effusus f. 'Spiralis', Sisyrichium californicum.
