    A native of western China where it is found growing in damp woodland and along the sides of streams and gullies this shade tolerant semi-evergreen will slowly spread by rooted fleshy stems to form a dense mat. The dark green hairy foliage has notched edges and from late spring to early summer clusters of small greenish-yellow flowers appear at the tips of the shoots.

  • Garden care: Maintain soil moisture especially throughout the warmer months or the foliage may become scorched. Lift and divide large clumps every three years in spring.
