  • Garden care: Sow seed 5mm deep in a well prepared sunny seed bed in spring and thin out when large enough to handle. Alternatively, start them in autumn using a gritty compost and keep them in a cold frame. Pot on the seedlings (being careful not to disturb the roots) when large enough to handle and harden off before planting out in spring.
