Dark pink flower buds open to reveal semi-double light pink flowers in spring. This cherry is one of the earliest flowering and often opens a few blossoms in late winter.

Pruning should be done in summer to reduce the risk of canker or silver leaf. Prune any diseased or dead branches, or those which may cross into healthy branches.
