Found growing in meadows throughout Europe this pretty summer flowering perennial is a wonderful addition to a wildflower garden or naturalised planting scheme. It spreads by underground rhizomes and forms rosettes of glaucous slightly hairy leaves. These form the backdrop from which upright branching stems rise carrying burnt orange flowerheads in summer. A tough litte plant that is rarely affected by pests and diseases and will thrive on poorer soils.
- Garden Care: Divide over-large clumps in spring or autumn.
