A handsome late-Victorian apple tree. The joy of this cultivar is the versatility of the fruit which can be used for both dessert and cooking without the need for extra sugar. Can be eaten raw by the intrepid. It is the result of crossing the Cox's Orange Pippin and an English cooking apple to produce a beautiful golden-blush fruit. Sharp flavour in September but sweetens when stored. Once established, the tree can support the full growth of all fruits so no need for thinning the fruit crop.
