The big lance shaped leaves of this variety can grow up to 60cm long. They are green on top and have a soft down on the underside and are great for adding interest in a tropical border or height to a summer bedding display. In mid to late summer, upright stems are topped with very fragrant pure white flower spikes which can grow up to 20cm tall. These look like clusters of butterflies that flutter as the wind catches the petals.
- Garden care: Rhizomes should be covered in the Autumn with a deep mulch or brought inside and kept cool and moist until the Spring when they can be planted again.
