This perennial corm has long, lance-shaped leaves. During autumn, goblet-like pink-lilac flowers are produced. As the common name suggests, Colchicum autumnale are often mistaken for a type of Crocus. But they are not at all related. Colchicum autumnale is ideal for naturalising in grass.
