What soil for indoor plant, Cocos Nucifera

Postby Wool » 28 Jul 2011 11:27

Hi,

I bought two Cocos Nucifera, about two meter. I put them in my sitting room, look nice.
Only thing I don't like is the plastic and small pots. I am going to replace them with bigger pots and add soil.
Can you suggest what kind soil I should buy and where I can buy them in London?

Thank you in advance.

Hi,

I would use a soil based potting compost to plant up the coconuts. Add some sharp sand to the compost to further improve the drainage. Make sure they get plenty of sunlight and feed them once per month with a balanced liquid feed. Be particularly careful with the watering in the winter months, overwatering could kill them, let them dry out fully before watering.
