how to repot a camellia bush

Postby mml96 » 08 Jul 2011 10:43

I have a camellia which is about 5 foot high and pot bound,(I do not have a garden, just a back yard) it is normally very healthy but now some leaves are turning yellow. I would like to repot it but although it has been well watered I cannot lift it out of the pot as it is very tight - any suggestion please. It is in a plastic pot.

Thank you

Hi,

I think you have just got to get 2 or 3 friends round to help you gently ease it out of the pot. Might involve cutting down the side of the pot if necessary maybe with some sharp loppers.

Or you could leave it in that pot and feed regularly with ericaceous plant food which might make the leave green up a bit.
